Due South, Dublin Bay
This family home is perched on the southern slopes of a cliff extending down towards Dublin Bay. The design exploits the orientation and view with a section that maintains views from the public road to the rear of the site. The upper floor of living spaces are arranged around a courtyard space with panoramic views through mature stands of Scots Pine. The lower floor bedrooms are set back and shaded by the overhanging living spaces overhead, with vertical shafts of light brought down to the lower levels. Steps and terraces connect the living spaces with exterior terraced landscape on the south facing slopes.
